Lawrence E. Hodnicki, 69, of Toledo, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024, at Mercy St. Charles Hospital in Oregon.
He was born January 1, 1955, in Toledo, to Edwin and Rosette (Napolski) Hodnicki.
Lawrence is survived by his wife of 47 years, Laurie (Jones) Hodnicki; son, Christopher Hodnicki; sisters, Cindy Hodnicki and Lorrene Schanke; three nieces; one nephew, and furry friends, Codie and Apollo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Rosette, and brother-in-law, Terry Schanke.
Lawrence was a 1973 Start High School graduate and worked 35 years for Firestone/ Bridgestone as an ASE certified auto technician. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, in Toledo.
He enjoyed mom and pop bowling, doing home repairs and woodworking. Another hobby of his was taking care of his freshwater fish tank. An avid NASCAR fan, Lawrence’s favorites were #3 Dale Earnhardt Sr., #8 Dale Earnhardt Jr. and #48, Jimmy Johnson.
Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 25, at David R. Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home, 5300 North Summit Street, Toledo. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 26, in the funeral home, Fr. James Morman presiding. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Toledo.
