The Ohio Division of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife recently released a field report for northwest Ohio. State Wildlife Officer Matt Smith, assigned to Huron County, received a call from a concerned landowner regarding a young owl that was out of its nest.

The Arts Commission of Greater Toledo’s Momentum Program, in partnership with NSG Pilkington, has now opened the Call for Proposals for the 2025 Momentum Intersection Glass Program. The Arts Commission invites individuals to reimagine the potential of Pilkington float glass toward the creation of projects funded through Momentum Intersection, a collaboration of industry, design and art.

A hamburger social will be held Friday, May 31, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Friendship Park Community Center, 2930 131st Street, Toledo. The menu includes a hamburger with all the fixings, baked beans, macaroni salad, chips, dessert and beverage.

Opera Outdoors returns to Wildwood Preserve Metropark with a performance on Wednesday, May 22, at 6 p.m., on the front lawn at the Manor House. In the event of inclement weather, the performance will be moved inside the Manor House.

Nominations for the 29th annual 20 Under 40 Leadership Recognition program that salutes young, dynamic leaders under the age of 40 are now being accepted. The program focuses on individuals in the northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan region who have distinguished themselves in their careers and/or as volunteers.

The Toledo-Lucas County League of Women Voters has planned an all county meet and greet featuring commissioners, mayors and trustees. The event is open to the public and will be held at 6 p.m., Monday, May 20, at Ernest Brew Works, 3142 Central Avenue.

The City of Toledo Parks and Youth Services is hosting three pop-up walking events as part of the 2024 Let’s Get Moving walking program. The communitywide walks are designed to promote health and wellness and give participants a preview of the actual program starting on July 20 at Ottawa Park.
